Stad:
Café Mumrik, Kungsgatan 61

Latinamerikagrupperna Uppsala warmly welcomes to our first theme night of the semester: Peoples right to water in Peru

Latinamerikagrupperna Uppsala continues with our Themenight-concept every second wednesday also this semester. We want to highlight issues concerning Latinamerica - a part of the world not properly covered in media - sustainability, justice and globalisation issues. First themenight we present: Peoples right to water in Peru

Right now, 1-11 febuary thousands of peruvians march to Lima in a peaceful protest against the damage of the mining industry on water sources.
Peruvian agricultural engineer and sociologist Azril Bacal lectures and hold a discussion. He has recently met, listened and supported the organizers of the national march and related struggle for water and water rights in Perú, like Father Arco Arana and Gregorio "Goyo" Santos, Major of Cajamarca, among others.

The lecture will be followed by an informal beer and further discussion afterwards for the ones interested to keep on chatting.

Please send an email that you're coming to latinamerikagrupperna_uppsala@hotmail.com or attend to the facebookevent so we know how much fika and space to prepare.
